3 months!

I can't believe that Emerie is already 3 months old! We just had her three months pictures taken. I hope we got some good shots! She is getting so big! She loves to play in the floor with me and let me pull her up to where she is sitting up. She holds onto my thumbs when we play. Now she is pulling my thumbs to her mouth to chew on them! I swear she is teething. We're still not sleeping to well, but hopefully we'll get there! I go back to work in less than two weeks, and I'm dreading it. Although I crave adult interaction (ha, ha!), I'm going to miss her. Grandma Joyce is going to keep her one day a week, and Carl will be with her the other day I work. I'm sure Aunt Kiki and Grandma Cherry will keep her when they are here on the weekends! I think we might even get Bumpa off the golf course some to babysit as well. Papa can't wait for her to be able to hold a fishing pole. So when she's old enough, he might be fighting to keep her too!
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We are going to Georgia to see Carl's family. It will be Em's first long trip! I hope she travels well! I'll let you know how it goes. We have so much to be thankful for this year. Carl and I have been blessed with this beautiful, health baby girl. We have a faithful and playful dog. We are also thankful for our families who help us out so much with things too numerous to mention. I am so glad that Emerie has wonderful grandparents that love her so much and want to spoil her, which she is definitely spoiled. We love you all!
Here are a few pics from the last couple of weeks. I'll post some after Thanksgiving of Em in her turkey dress that my friend Jessica made. It's super cute, and I can't wait for Em to wear it!

TOES!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! We've been busy around the house! We've decided that we think Emerie might be teething and that's why she's been so fussy. She wants to chew on everything and is a drooling machine. She's been better the past couple of days and much happier, so Mommy and Daddy are happier too! She still hates her tummy time and has figured out that to get out of it, she just has to roll over as soon as I put her down. She's so close to rolling over from her back to her tummy. She's also found her toes and feet this week and is reaching for them constantly. Carl and I love just looking at her because she spends most of the time smiling and laughing. Bower still wants her to play with him. Emerie just looks at him when he's walking by her and smiles at him!
Carl and I spent all weekend decorating the house for Christmas! I would never get my stuff out this early, but we are having Em's 3 month pics made right before Thanksgiving at the house. I'm proud of how good it looks! Emerie has her own tree in her room with lots of pink ornaments. We even put lights up on the house! We have two deer that light up in the front yard, and Bower has decided to bark at them. Hopefully, he'll get used to them! I have one more tree to put up which will go in the rec room, but we have to rearrange some things first. Now all I have to do is wrap presents! Emerie is going to be so spoiled at Christmas! And even Bower, too!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We had a busy last couple of days! On Wednesday, Aunt KiKi came to visit, and Grandma Joyce came to babysit while Keeley and I went to lunch and to get my H1N1 vaccine. On Thursday, my friend Leslie came to visit and bring over our Vandy Basketball Tickets. After Carl got home from work, he and Bower went for a run outside. I put Emerie down on her blanket in the floor for her "tummy time." She decided she didn't like it and threw a fit. I was on the phone with Mom at the time and was about to get off the phone to pick Emerie up. Em did her version of the pushup and rolled right over! I was so excited! No one else saw it but me. Granny heard it! I knew she was close to rolling over all week. We've tried to get her to do it again so Daddy can see her and video tape her, but apparently she's camera shy! Friday afternoon, we dressed her in her puppy dog costume and took her to Carl's work for a Halloween party. We definitely showed her off! I was proud of Carl for not using her to get candy! Ha, Ha! Only a piece of cake! She slept for most of it but woke up at the end and hammed it up for everyone. Today, we went to Hendersonville to see Great Aunt Betty Carol and cousins Courtney, Kaylor, and Christy. She was fussy and decided to cry most of the time, so we didn't get to put on our Halloween costume for pictures. After we came home, all the grandparents and Aunt KiKi came over. We had so much food! Corn dip, apple dumplings, pimento cheese, chili, and cupcakes. Everything was so good! Emerie was still fussy and only wanted to sleep! She finally woke up for pictures in her costume, but it was after Bumpa and Grandma Joyce left. I have a feeling we'll be making more pictures after tonight in her costume. She did great for what pictures we took. We ended up having 63 trick or treaters, and I had to give out some cupcakes since I ran out of treat bags. Bower was excited everytime the doorbell rang! He even tolerated his hotdog costume! We had a great day even though Em was tired and fussy. Hopefully she'll feel better tomorrow! I just hope she's not up all night since she slept a lot today! Carl just got her back to sleep, so we're going to bed to get as much sleep as she'll let us. Enjoy the pics of the last couple days! Goodnight!

Sleeping in her crib!

Well, we've had three nights in a row of sleeping in our crib! Emerie doesn't sleep as long as she did in her carseat, but she's still letting Mommy get some sleep. :) Today, while she was in her pack n play, she was so close to rolling over on her tummy. I couldn't believe it! She'll be 10 weeks old tomorrow. Time has flown by since she was born! We're having a busy week with friends coming by and Aunt KiKi coming to visit. We're taking Em to Carl's work on Friday for a Halloween party and then to Hendersonville on Saturday to see my family. Emerie is going to be a puppy dog, and Bower is dressing up as a hotdog! I can't wait to post pics of them in their costumes! Here are a few pics of the past two weeks!

Shopping!

Most of you probably know how much I hate shopping! Well, I went with Mom and Keeley today and actually had a good time. It's so fun picking out Christmas presents for Emerie! They have so many great toys for her! I probably spent way too much money, but I did get her some awesome things for Christmas. I think I'm actually done shopping for her! I accomplished a lot today. Of course, Grandma Cherry and Aunt Kiki bought her some really cute clothes. One thing is for sure, she's going to only wear her outfits once because she has so many!
On to the bigger news! Emerie slept in her crib last night and didn't wake up until 5:15 this morning! Yay! I hope it's not a one time thing. We'll see how tonight goes. Hopefully, she wont' need the carseat. She did run a little fever after her shots but seems to be feeling better.
She got some daddy time today while I was shopping. Apparently, she decided to give Daddy a hard time, so she filled her diaper and then some. According to Papa, it was bad! :) So Daddy had to change her and clean her up. Then she spit up everywhere, so there was another wardrobe change. Then she peed everywhere when he was changing her diaper, so she got another outfit. I think she is being nice to me, since I went and bought her all the presents. Ha, ha!

Our First Post!

Happy Fall! Several people I know have blogs, so I decided to start one for our family. Emerie had her 2 month check-up today. She was a trooper through her shots and only cried for about a minute. Mommy and Daddy did well too and didn't cry! She weighs 12lbs. 3 ozs. and is 23in. long. That's the 85th and 75th percentile! She has almost doubled her birth weight! She loves to eat that's for sure and comes by that honestly from both sides of the family. She is changing so much everyday! I keep telling Carl that's she a mini-me version of him. She is starting to laugh and have what I call conversations with herself! It's so cute!
Bower is great with her! He brings her his toy and sits it beside her. He justs waits and is like why aren't you playing with me. He never gives his toy to anyone else. He loves to give her hands and feet kisses! It's going to be so funny when she is old enough to play with him.
We don't have much going on. We're staying in for the most part due to all the yuck going around. I'm making Emerie's Christmas List and am starting my shopping early in hopes that I'll be done before I go back to work. I start back the first week of December and am going back two days a week, part-time. I'm so excited about only working two days a week! At least, we won't have to worry about child-care for a while! I think both Em's Grandmas and aunt will fight to babysit her! :) We are planning Emerie's 3 month pictures for next month. Hopefully, she's cooperate!
Our next big step is getting her to sleep in her crib. She loves the carseat! We're going to try the crib tonight. Maybe, we'll all get some sleep but I doubt it! Here are some pics from the last couple weeks! Enjoy!
